Royal Westmoreland launches recycling programme
The Royal Westmoreland Property Owners Association (RWPOA) have launched a plan to reduce the volume of garbage going to the local landfill from their community.
At a media launch on Wednesday at the Royal Westmoreland Clubhouse, Jennifer Juman, a director of the association, said plastics, aluminum, glass, paper and cardboard would go into new bins specified for recyclables, and waste into a second bin.
The project will use wheelie bins procured from Enterra Trading, which is a partner in the project, and residents living in all 250 homes comprising the Royal Westmoreland community, will be involved in the process.
Scrap Man Recycling, the project’s second partner, will collect both recyclables and waste, which will then be delivered to the Sustainable Barbados Recycling Centre (SBRC).
